The One with September (and part of October) 2022

Maybe it’s possible to have more than one home. Maybe it’s possible to belong in 100 different ways to 100 different people and places.”

- Emily Henry, Book Lovers

Labor Day celebrations included some festivaling at Santa Cali Gon on the Independence Square where we ran into my cousin and her guy, one last trip to the swim beach where we had the beach to ourselves for the morning, board gaming, and an impromptu meet up with old coworker friends.

September marked 7 years with my Best Favorite. We celebrated with a mash up of some of our favorites - Joe's BBQ on Minsky's Pizza.

We also went to our last Sporting KC soccer game of the season and went to our first women's game. It's time to get some KC Current gear as more games are in the future.

As always, we enjoyed our fire nights.

The pups loved on each other hard this month and got all the spoils.

Grandpa even joined us for a walk one morning where I made a haul at the Little Free Library at the nearby park.

Speaking of books, I went on my second Bookcation of the year. The company was great, the snacks were yummy, and the book total between us was 6. Bookcations are my favorite new tradition.

Other book moments from the month...
I found an illustrated copy of Hocus Pocus at Costco that I made sure to bring home with me. While it followed the plot of the movie, the additional details were a delight as were the graphics.

This friend was willing to venture out with me to add some bookstores to my bookstore challenge for the year. We went to some local places and later vacationed to Eureka Springs, Arkansas where we got to meet an author who owns a bookstore there. She signed some books for us and even posed for a photo in front of the Bona Lisa with us.

Also while in Eureka Springs...
We glamped at Iris Hill and watched Hocus Pocus on our first night.

We ate yummy breakfasts and dinners at our glamping pods.

We hiked and fished at Lake Leatherwood.

We drank festive beer at Gotahold Brewing.

And we strolled and shopped our way through the downtown.

Eureka Springs with friends was a fun way to start Spooky Season.

Here’s to finding home and belonging wherever we may go.
