The One with April 2021

April started with a trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for a slightly belated birthday celebration. We glamped at the charming Iris Hill and before our time there ended we were already planning a return trip. We took a haunted walking tour and shopped in town, fed apples to the animals on the Iris Hill property, and hiked and paddle boated at Lake Leatherwood.

We even had the chance to reunite with some very loved friends en route to Arkansas!

I started going back (but really for the first time since it’s a new job) to the office and meeting people in person on a limited basis in April. While I miss the freedom to wear mismatched outfits it felt weirdly good to prep my outfit the night before and get out and about a little. I still have days to work from home and on those days I can often be found out on the deck with my computer.

In previous times I made regular visits to the dentist and at some point life happened and the next thing I knew it had been several years since a visit. I have now visited my dentist 3 times in the last month and there are more visits to come. I still need a crown and my wisdom teeth need to come out. Smiling with a numb mouth is a chore (see below) and smoothies are a welcome treat after such visits even though that's also something of a chore.

In April I got to share some good views, good convo, and good exercise with my cousin. Hikes with her are fun!

Some good friends got married in April and we had a fun time celebrating with them. Wishing them much love and many blessings.

We have been working hard to spruce up the backyard in time for outdoor hangs. It's coming along little by little. And not without laughs.

Outdoor hangs have officially started and I was glad for time with a dear friend and mint juleps. It's how we sing our praises.

Our great good buddy moved back and many drinks and laughs have been shared. Here's to many more in the coming months.

It wouldn't be a complete monthly update without a photo of the pups being cute.

Book tally for the year: 24

One of the most noteable events of April was reaching the 10 year milestone of living back in Kansas City! Damn!

Here's to aloha!
